Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton, center Drew Bobo and linebacker Raylen Wilson will join head coach Kirby Smart at SEC Media Days next week, marking the Bulldogs’ official return to the spotlight before their September 5 opener against Tennessee State Tigers. The four-day event in Tampa, Florida, runs July 20–23 and serves as the SEC’s annual kickoff to the college football season.
Stockton, a redshirt senior, will make his second straight appearance at SEC Media Days after leading the Bulldogs to back-to-back SEC titles. In 2025, he threw for 2,894 yards, 24 touchdowns and 5 interceptions while adding 462 rushing yards and 10 rushing scores. Bobo, a second-team preseason All-American by Athlon, missed the 2025 SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl due to a foot injury but remains a linchpin at center. Wilson, a two-year starter, has 136 career tackles and fills the void left by second-round draft pick CJ Allen.
The Bulldogs’ presence at SEC Media Days underscores their depth, with three starters returning from last season’s championship run. Stockton’s dual-threat ability and Bobo’s offensive line leadership will be critical as Georgia aims to defend its title. Wilson’s experience at inside linebacker adds stability after Allen’s departure. The event also provides a platform for Kirby Smart to reinforce the Bulldogs’ 2026 goals ahead of their non-conference opener.
Alongside Smart, Auburn’s Alex Golesch, South Carolina’s Shane Beamer and Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea will take the podium on July 21. The Bulldogs’ trio will join 48 other players and all 16 SEC head coaches, setting the stage for a season that begins with Tennessee State Tigers on September 5.
With SEC Media Days serving as the final pre-season media stop, focus shifts to Georgia’s non-conference slate. The Bulldogs open at home against Tennessee State Tigers on September 5, a matchup that will test their offseason progress. Stockton, Bobo and Wilson’s performances in Tampa will set expectations for a team eyeing another SEC title.
