The Georgia Bulldogs have missed out on a key recruiting target as four-star linebacker Kenneth Simon II has flipped his commitment from Alabama to the Tennessee Volunteers. Simon II, a class of 2027 prospect, is the son of former Tennessee linebacker Kevin Simon, who had a notable career with the Volunteers. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds, Simon II is ranked as the No. 7 linebacker in the nation and the No. 6 prospect from Tennessee. His decision comes after originally committing to Alabama on May 11, 2026, which surprised many given his father's ties to Tennessee. The Bulldogs had been actively pursuing Simon II, who also considered Oklahoma before making his final choice. This development is significant for Georgia, which currently holds the No. 14 recruiting class in the nation. The Bulldogs have recently secured commitments from other linebackers, including Joakim Gouda and Temorris Campbell Jr. However, losing Simon II to Tennessee highlights the competitive nature of SEC recruiting. As the Bulldogs continue to build their roster, they will need to focus on securing top talent to maintain their status in college football.
